Stephen specializes in fuel cell system development, with a focus on reducing customer cost. He has a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan and will receive a master’s in Mathematics from Eastern Michigan University in 2021.
He is interested in number theory and loss-function minimization techniques within machine learning. Stephen co-authored research in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers that applied laser interferometry to calibrate and validate a nano-actuator built with off-the-shelf capacitors as an alternative to higher cost implementations utilizing Lead Zirconate Titanate (PZT).
Stephen enjoys reading, horseback riding and travel and has been to 13 countries across Europe, Asia and Australia. He’s hiked the Dolomites, Balkans, German Alps, Himalayas and Southern Alps in New Zealand.
